16 Aug 2020. Cycle A. 20th Sunday OT. Is 56:1, 6-7 + Rom 11:13-15, 29-32 + Mt 15:21-28
“It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it into the dogs” (Mt 15:26b).
Which is a human right?
The right and the left fight
To write it right.
One claims over the other
To be more upright.
I would say,
‘If it is not right, it cannot be a right.
A false right is a fright.
A right to be right cancels not someone’s right.
Righteousness uprights human rights.’ VSS
To have a right to do a thing
is not at all the same as to be right in doing it.
—G.K. Chesterton
Give to God what is right; not what is left.*
You will be right in; you will not be left out. VSS
