29 Sept 2020. Feast of Archangels. Cycle A-2020. Dn 7:9-10; 13-14 or Rv 12:7-12a + Jn 1:47-51

“They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony; love of life did not deter them from death. Therefore, rejoice you heavens, and you who dwell in them. But woe to you, earth and sea, for the Devil has come down to you in great fury, for he knows he has but a short time” (Rev 12:11-12).

The forces of evil have long gained the upper hand. They control our ears, our eyes, our minds, and our souls.

Today they have formed the GroupThink Party, where nonconformists are trashed, smashed, and crushed, or, at least, canceled.

Truth had long been deformed, reformed to Political Correctness. Yet PC is a virus that blinds reason. No longer is the battle between right versus wrong, but we versus them. St. Paul, who saw it coming, said,

“Our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens” (Eph 6:12).

For Spiritual Welfare, he admonished a Spiritual Warfare.

“Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day … So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, and your feet shod in readiness for the Gospel of peace. In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all [the] flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword off the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Eph 6:13-17). VSS
