7 Dec 2020. 2nd Sunday Advent. Cycle B-2021. 2 Pt 3:8-14; Mk 1:1-8; Is 40:1-5,9-11

“With the LORD one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day. The LORD does not delay his promise, as some regard ‘delay,’ but he is patient with you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2Pt 3:8-9; cf. Ps 90:4).

A second… it is nothing compared to a day.
A day… it is nothing compared to a year.
A year… it is nothing compared to a millennium.
A millennium… it is nothing compared to eternity.

“Strange how people can be so pre-occupied with a life they can’t hold on to… And neglect an eternity they can’t run away from” (Father Jerry Orbos, SVD, “Just A Moment,” Oct 17).

To bear temperance in one’s lifetime…
It is nothing but a speck of time.
To bask in glory in eternity…
It is everything with infinity.
To bear now, it’s must to bask forever…
Or to bask now, but to bear forever.

“The suffering of the present time is nothing, compared to the glory to be revealed for us” (Rom 8:18; cf. Ps 90:10). VSS
